GEOMUR 2016 training on 1st December in Lyon

Following the release of GEOMUR 2016, an inter-company training session is organized.

It will take place in Lyon, a stone’s throw from the Part-Dieu train station, on 1 December 2016.

During this session, the GEOMUR software will be presented, and more particularly the latest developments:

  • the integration of standard NF P 94-281 for the verification of external stability,
  • the earthquake calculation according to Eurocode 8 Part 5,
  • the calculation of the steel sections of reinforced concrete walls according to Eurocode 2,
  • automatic updates of GEOMUR.

To register, simply send us the registration form by clicking on the button below (1 newsletter per participant). The registration is 900 € per participant and 800 € from the second intern of the same company.

Start of the construction of BAT 1 – April 2016

Start of the construction of BAT 1 – April 2016

The second phase of the civil engineering works has started as part of the Geneva International Airport project. The underground structure will accommodate the future technical rooms of the new wing East. It is a 300-meter-long and 25-meter-wide (circa) cut-and-cover. GEOS, within the RBI-T international pool, works as a civil engineer and geotechnical engineer and provides complete project management. For the work phase, GEOS develops the execution plans and carries out the work management.

Some key figures:

  • Amount of civil works: approximately 22’000, – kCHF
  • 6’000m2 of diaphragm walls,
  • 2,000 ml of piles,
  • 43 300-meter-deep geothermal probes,
  • 30’000m3 of earthworks of which 15’000m3 top-down excavation.
  • 6’000 m3 of concrete.

Already present on the design of lines 15 and 18 of the Grand Paris Express, GEOS takes part to the design studies for line 17 North, as subcontractor of INGEROP Consulting and Engineering for geotechnics: a 20-kilometer-long railway stretching from the station Le Bourget RER (station not included) to Mesnil-Amelot via 6 stations, 2 of them serving the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport.

In the context of a landslide of about 2 ha, located between secondary road 13 downstream and communal roads upstream (Chemin des Dames, Chemin des Storts) with, on the edge of the slippage, risks for houses, GEOS assists the commune of Passy on the technical aspects.

Within the framework of line 15 South, the SADE-Solétanche-Bachy-Solétranche company group Bachy Tunnel is currently producing a test well in Boulogne Billancourt under INGEROP-GEOS work-management.

The purpose of this test pit is to:

  • Strengthen the performance assumptions of the diaphragm walls:

– Two methods: hydraulic and hydroframe;

– Production rate and accuracy of verticality;

– Mechanical strength and deformation;

– Waterproofing;

  • Test a method of building the section through chalk under the groundwater level:

– Opening in the wall;

– Strengthering the ground by injection;

– Retaining structure;

– Measurement of surface deformation;

  • Test the field treatment by Jet Grouting:

– Diameter;

– Resistance;

  • Specify the geotechnical model;

– Stratigraphy;

– Mechanical characteristics;

– Large permeability;

– Presence of flint;
